The newly expanded collection for Ireland, Portugal and Spain offers travellers a variety of options through Urban Getaways+, Fly & Rail Vacations, Fly & Drive Vacations and Guided Tours.
Urban Getaways+ highlights Spain and Portugal’s most vibrant cities including Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon and Porto. In Barcelona, travellers will experience Spanish culture and architecture with a visit to the mesmerizing Sagrada Familia cathedral and a stroll through Las Ramblas promenade. In Madrid, itineraries offer sights of some of the city’s biggest attractions including the Royal Palace, the Paseo del Prado and the Cibeles and Neptuno fountains.
In Lisbon, travellers will explore the Belem quarter, the Jeronimos Monastery, the National Coach Museum and the Alfama and Rossio quarters. And in Porto – a UNESCO World Heritage site - visitors will enjoy a stroll through the medieval alleyways and visit baroque churches and beaux-arts buildings.
Featured itineraries in Guided Tours include Splendours of Spain with an expert guide taking visitors through Madrid, Cordoba, Seville, Ronda and Granada to learn about the country’s diverse past; and the Best of Ireland featuring a visit of Count Kerry’s seaside towns, and tours of Boyne Valley, the tombs of Loughcrew and Blarney Castle.
Fly and Drive Vacations put a strong emphasis on the remarkable landscapes of Ireland. The Live like a Lord itinerary includes a drive through some of the country’s picturesque towns and hamlets including Galway, Clifden and Kerry. Suggested itineraries include stops at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, 16th century Trinity College and the Cliffs of Moher. Accommodations include stays in ancient castles.
Fly and Rail Vacations’ itinerary highlights include Ireland: From City to Nature and Portugal: City and Coast. Ireland: From City to Nature offers immersion in the country’s intricate history and culture. Itineraries start in vibrant capital Dublin followed by excursions to the surrounding countryside including a visit to the renowned town of Kilkenny. Portugal: City and Coast offers exploration of capital Lisbon and a rail journey to the Algarve region with sights of the Moorish and Roman ruins; the Monchique Mountains of Foia and Saint Anthony’s golden church.
New programs for Scotland, England and France have been segmented into the categories of Urban Getaways, Guided Tours, Fly & Drive and Fly & Rail Vacations and French Riviera Escape.
In Scotland, the Urban Getaways + program offers travellers the option to discover capital Edinburgh at their own pace and includes a hop-on / hop-off bus tour with stops in historical neighbourhoods; and tours of Loch Lomond National Park and several whisky distilleries.
In England, Fly and Rail options allow travellers to not only explore the UK but also journey into surrounding countries including France. The London & Paris itinerary includes a panoramic sightseeing tour of London, followed by transportation aboard the Eurostar train to Paris. There, travellers will enjoy a boat cruise up the Seine and soak up Paris' food, culture, and art and fashion scene.
Air Canada Vacations’ extended program in France complements Air Canada’s upcoming route from Montreal to Marseille set to launch in June. The seasonal service will be operated by Air Canada Rouge with frequency three times a week. ACV’s French Riviera Escape program offers travellers a start in Marseille followed by a visit to Nice’s ancient streets and popular beaches. Travellers will also enjoy a daytime excursion to glamourous Monaco.
New collections for Italy and Central Europe offer Urban Getaways, Guided Tours, Fly & Rail Vacations and Amalfi Coast Escapes.
In Italy, the new Amalfi Coast Escape program offers travellers an immersive experience in southern coastline culture. Highlights include a day in Ravello; a cooking class in Minori inside an authentic farmhouse; and exploration of the Campania region which is famous for its mozzarella cheese. Travellers will visit a buffalo mozzarella farm, learn about the cheese-making process and participate in another cooking class. A stop in the ancient Greek city of Paestum is also included.
Berlin, Frankfurt, Budapest and Prague are the featured destinations in Air Canada Central Europe program. Itineraries in Berlin align with Air Canada Rouge’s new flight to the destination launching this summer. The seasonal route from Toronto will operate four times weekly and will be the only non-stop service between Berlin and Canada. Also this summer, Air Canada will launch daily seasonal service from Vancouver to Frankfurt onboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
Berlin is featured in Air Canada Urban Getaways program where travellers have the option of exploring some of the city’s most famous sites including Checkpoint Charlie, Berliner Dom Cathedral, the Pergamon Museum, Brandenburg Gate and the Charlottenburg Palace. Budapest and Prague are also featured in Urban Getaways allowing travellers to delve into some of Europe’s greatest cities.
Fly & Rail Vacations offer a visit to multiple cities in various combinations such as Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich or Prague, Vienna and Budapest. Packages include flights, accommodations, airport transfers, train tickets, meals and excursions.
